We value our monthly time of corporate prayer as we commune with God together. Join us to pray together for the things that are on God’s heart.

Five Solas Class

Five Solas class will be on Saturday, February 25th, from 9AM to 12PM over Zoom.

This class is a prerequisite to get baptized at HMCC (along with Baptism Class) and to become a member of HMCC.  We’ll learn about key doctrines to understand that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

This is not only for those that want to get baptized or become a member of our church, but if you’re not a believer, if you’re a new believer, or if you’re just someone who wants to understand more about salvation, this class is also for you.

Experiencing Membership Class

Experiencing Membership class will be held weekly for a total of 4 meetings starting from Sunday, November 12th, at 5PM after Sunday Celebration.

This class is a prerequisite to become a member of HMCC (along with the Five Solas class).

In Experiencing Membership class, we’ll learn about the importance of local church membership and what HMCC’s distinctives are; we’ll gain a better understanding of what it means to be “the church gathered” & “the church scattered”; and we’ll learn what the requirements for membership at HMCC are.

Taking this class does not automatically mean that you’re committing to membership at HMCC, but it’s for you to make an informed decision about whether you will commit to this church or another local church.

Lent 2022

Lent starts on Wednesday, March 2, 40 days (minus Sundays) before Easter. Traditionally, the Church has used this time to fast and focus on Jesus’ death and resurrection as we approach Good Friday and Easter. It’s a time where we’re intentionally remembering our own need for salvation and God’s amazing grace that has saved us, and a great opportunity to continue growing in our hunger for God.

Let’s pray for our church to continue developing in a culture of discipling and to continue growing as a gospel-revealing community.

Let’s also pray for the Ukraine-Russia crisis. Here is the Ukraine Prayer Guide that has seven prayer topics that you can pray through — one for each day of the week. Click here to see link to the prayer guide

We are starting new LIFE groups in 2022, so we’d love for you to sign up and join one!  LIFE groups are really the “other half” of our church life where we gather together in small groups for the purpose of discipling one another to follow Christ Jesus faithfully and fruitfully.

LGs will start Friday, January 21, but don’t delay in signing up.  Especially if you were not in a LG last year, you are most welcome to sign up!

One Desire Fast

We’ll start our annual HMCC church-wide fast, called the One Desire Fast (or ODF), to begin the new year by seeking and hungering after God.

One Desire Fast is a two-week fast from Sunday (February 18- sundown) to Saturday (March 1- sundown).

During the two weeks of the One Desire Fast, we’ll be fasting and praying together as a church.  For the first week, we’ll be fasting from social media and fasting from meat.  For the second week, we’ll continue to fast from social media and either consume one meal per day or consume only liquids. If you need to modify the fast for whatever personal reasons, feel free to do that.

Remember fasting isn’t about our willpower to perfectly keep the fast, but it’s about saying not only with words but through our sacrifice.

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:25-26

As a church, we want to constantly reorient ourselves back to God, knowing that apart from him, we are nothing and can do nothing (Rom. 11:26; John 15:5).
