One Desire Fast is a two-week fast from Sunday (January 10) to Saturday (January 23), but we’ll kick-off our One Desire Fast on Sunday (January 10) with a special two-part sermon series in looking at Scripture to see how Jesus himself fasted and feasted.
During those two weeks of the One Desire Fast, we’ll be fasting and praying together as a church. For the first week, we’ll be fasting from social media and fasting from meat. For the second week, we’ll continue to fast from social media and either consume one meal per day or consume only liquids. If you need to modify the fast for whatever personal reasons, feel free to do that.
Fasting isn’t about our willpower to perfectly keep the fast, but it’s about saying not only with words but through our sacrifice.
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:25-26
As a church, we want to constantly reorient ourselves back to God, knowing that apart from him, we are nothing and can do nothing (Rom. 11:26; John 15:5).

Will we be having our annual Congregational Retreat in 2021?
No, but we will be having our first-ever 2021 HMCC Online Conference on February 5-7, 2021!
How will the 2021 HMCC Online Conference be different?
In some ways it will be the same: the sessions will have the ordinary means that we receive God’s grace: worship, the Word, prayer, and fellowship. But it will be different in that it will be online at times (for the sessions) and offline at times (for personal reflection, LIFE group times).
Can non HMCC members join?
Yes. Everyone is welcome to join. However, we highly encourage attendees to register prior to the conference.
